One of the best applications I have ever used is called "Eraser". It works as a light box for people who need to erase or delete an email, text message, or even a web page. What I love about it is that it allows me to control how much of the information is erased and the file location. When I download it, I can tell it exactly what I want it to do. This software is actually considered a freeware, so you do not have to pay anything for it. The application also gives you an option of disabling the backup feature for yourself if you wish. If you do not like this feature then there is an option to delete everything that is stored. Once you are done with your erase and un-erase process you can select what size file you would like to keep. I have always kept files larger because of the privacy aspect.
After downloading the software you can choose to make a backup or not. This means that your data will be protected from anybody else accessing it. However, if you do not want to use the free version of the application then you can download the paid version for a one time fee. In order to download the free version you will have to create an account with Google and you will get your own name and email address. However, you cannot access the application online. With the paid version you can download the free version for a lifetime. Please consider all this.
